We arrange a private evening with a respected local musician — a sitarist in Jaipur, a sarangi player in Varanasi, a vocalist in Udaipur — in a heritage haveli that most travelers never see from the inside. The performance is unhurried: the musician plays a full raga, building from the meditative alap through the rhythmic climax, with no time pressure.
