I grew up in the old walled city of Jaipur, in a haveli that’s been in my family for four generations. My grandmother ran a chai stall near Hawa Mahal — some of my earliest memories are of watching tourists walk past, completely lost, and wishing I could show them the Jaipur I knew.
After studying history at the University of Rajasthan, I spent five years leading heritage walks before joining Antara. Now I get to do what I always wanted: show people the Pink City through the eyes of someone who’s loved it his whole life.
My Jaipur isn’t just forts and palaces — it’s the block printer who’s been using the same wooden stamps for 40 years, the rooftop where you can see the entire city turn pink at sunset, and the street food stall where the samosas have been the same recipe since 1952.
The three experiences Arjun loves sharing most.
Before the crowds arrive, I take you through a side entrance known only to locals. The light at 6 AM turns the sandstone to gold.
A fifth-generation artisan in Sanganer who’ll teach you the art of hand-block printing — and let you keep what you make.
After dark, the bazaars empty and the old city becomes something else entirely. I know which rooftop serves the best dal baati churma under the stars.
